Money Talks _ Loudly

You have to love the new breed of professional athlete. Their salaries are at all-time highs. So are other perks, including travel comforts, generous per diem allowances while on the road, first-class hotels, gourmet meals, personal trainers, endorsement deals, you name it. Life is good for the pros. Well, not always. Time and again, we hear this gripe: "I was disrespected." That complaint emerges with regularity during contract negotiations. These folks have a hard time understanding the concept of "ownership." Apparently, labor agreements are supposed to be one-sided in favor of the worker. Heck, the pros even have their own unions. Where do we sign up?
